Robert Rutherford ASID, and his staff of talented designers can customize a design for your home that fits your needs with styles that range from elegant traditional to modern contemporary.
I would have to say that my clients are the motivation behind what I design. In recent years so many new products and avenues have opened up to the public and this has created a great need for designers to sort through the confusion of it all. As an ASID member I have certain standards to meet when it comes to what materials I use, how I arrange and create spaces and ultimately how I will pull a look together.
There is a certain energy that comes from the creative process and I enjoy using this energy to design better surroundings for people. Something that makes their lives a little easier, and happier.
LeeAnn Rutherford Jones
Growing up in a family business of interior design I have always been inspired by classic styles but told in a new way. I especially enjoy blending several design styles whether traditional or contemporary into one unique look that will reflect my clients personality and what they desire.
It was 21 years ago when my love for design really became my own as I saw how transforming my clients home into a space they loved affected not only their surroundings, but their lives.
Often the world around us can be uncertain and I believe that a person's home should be their sanctuary. Being able to create a place where people can come together as a family and enjoy their time with one another is something I truly love to do.
A little more about who we are
"I started my 37 year design career with a love of fabrics and color in Fort Worth, Texas. In that time I have enjoyed representing some of the most luxuriant textiles ever seen, and for the last 20 years I've been doing so with my design family here at Rutherford's. And just as our lives go through different stages, so does design"
"Designing means more than just color schemes and furnishings, it's custom work with a complete story, one with a beginning and an end. And being a part of Rutherford's since they opened their doors in 1989, I have had the privilege of being in many stories. Having the ability to create and customize a home that a family needs and can enjoy is my version of a happy ending."
"I've been a Dallas based designer for 26 years, graduating from Texas Tech University with a BFA-Interior Design Major, but it was my younger years spent with my grandmother that really set the stage for my love of design.
Like life and art, design is constantly evolving and it's fulfilling to help people see their projects come together and enjoy the wonders of their home."
"My first exposure to the Design world was over 17 years ago and it's ever changing creative process is fascinating. In particular what I have found interesting is how a historical piece of furniture can be designed & adapted and made anew. I'm looking forward to the future of design, for we will certainly see an element of the past.
"Working at Rutherford's means something different every day, in the past 10 years I have assisted the designers with painting, staging furniture, installing artwork and of course maintaining quality control for whatever items come through our doors is of most importance!"
"There is an art to working at Rutherford's, whether it is staging a new look, inspecting textiles for flaws or installing artwork, everything requires an eye for detail and this is to insure that what we offer is of the highest quality both in product and in service."
My years studying Fine Arts at Columbus College of Art & Design prepared me for life in Interior Design. I developed a love and respect for quality wallpaper and fabrics, and realized early on that in order to supply the best quality I would have to do research, lots of research and also be able to tune into the needs of each designer. When we opened Rutherford's in 1989 we wanted to give the public something new, and even though times and design has changed, I guarantee we are still one of a kind.
I can remember a time in 8th grade being assigned to design my dream bedroom and the teacher telling me that most everything was to scale. I've always enjoyed creating things from floral designs to home furnishings. I love using old and new to create a brand new look, and to help people gain new excitement for their home. I can't imagine doing anything else!
The reason I have always felt blessed growing up in a small immigrant neighborhood in South Jersey is due to my father and his friends who were part of a team of European craftsmen. I learned my way around the yacht building in Millville and Egg Harbor. Later in life my skills were enhanced by building rancher style homes. June of 1994 I accepted Mr. Rutherford's offer to be part of his company. Mr. Rutherford took a personal interest in mentoring me through this transition adding real value to my customers and long term clients. I've learned our clients often know what they want when they see it, but it's my responsibility to show it to them, especially artwork - it's a favorite of mine, and whether the design presented is traditional, transitional or otherwise it must be quality. And seeing my clients well pleased, is the best possible ending.
